Greg Drake – Aspects of Fellowship
Greg Drake teaches about the necessity of closeness and fellowship for believers, using Hebrews 10:19-25.
- Look up – Hebrews 10:19-21
- Look ahead – Hebrews 10:22-23
- Look around – Hebrews 10:24-25
A quote from the message:
In the Old Testament economy there was always a distance, the people always had to draw near. Only on one occasion, on one day out of the year could one man go past the veil and not without blood, as the scriptures tell us, to the work that God had charged him with. After that occasion, for the next 364 days, not one footfall would be heard in the Holy of Holies; no one. And brethren, we sit here this morning with the Holy God of the universe who says that you can bring your footfalls any time you want. You can bring all the burdens that lay upon your heart, anything that you want to share, anything you want to bring before your Father, you can do that anytime you want.

Thomas Amos – The Practical & Spiritual Importance of the Church
An explanation of the practical importance of the church body and its relationship to us and a description of the spiritual importance of the church body and its relationship to Christ.
The physical importance of the church:
- Communication
- Accountability
- Discipline
- Mutual prayer (Acts 12:12, 1 John 5:14-15, Isaiah 65:24)
- Bible study and discipleship (Malachi 3:16)
- Mutual worship (1 Peter 2:4)
The spiritual importance of the church:
- It is His vehicle for expression on Earth (1 Peter 2:9, I Timothy 3:15)
- It is His body – The church completes Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 1:22)
- It is the object of his love (Ephesians 5:23, 25-29)
“If we could but realize that the dearest object in this world to our Lord Jesus is His church, we would spend less time in peripheral activities and concerns. Our efforts would then be directed toward the up-building of the local church where we fellowship, and our love would reach to every member of His body. Thus we would be caring for that which He loves most in the world.”
