Parables - God's Pictures
That teaching by parables was common among the Jews is proven in the Old Testament. So it isn't surprising that the Lord adopted the same method of teaching. The great difference between the parables of the Jews and the parables of the Lord, was that the former were mere illustrations of what had been said and taught, while the latter were the very foundation of Christ's teaching. It has been said that a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. But it is more than an illustration. "Parables are outlined shadows as the light of heavenly things falls on well-known earthly scenes." Learn how to tell a story-how to tell the Story-from the Master Storyteller Himself in PARABLES: God's Pictures.
